If it’s a Cowman I personally don’t bother because they’re just so fucking annoying to fight, but, if you can, use high ground to rain arrows on it. Still recommend the bow because the Virginia is a fucking savage at close range. The way to dodge a Virginia effectively is by circling it.
If it’s a Virginia the same tactic can be used but it’s a little bit tougher due to its speed. The bow uses no stamina so you keep all of your stamina over the fight for retreating and dodging. If it’s an Armsy then use a bow & arrows, just keep walking backwards and sprint burst backwards when it uses its attacks (remember one of its common attacks is three consecutive strikes so never rush in after only one or two).
